The falling of a young soldier
Robert Odel Crenshaw Jr. was born in Bellflower California on
December 12, 1984 to Robert Odel Crenshaw and Geyne_ Sharon Mitchell. At the age of 1 day old Robert was kidnapped from Kaiser
Permanente hospital where he was born, yet God saw to it that Robert was returned safely to his mothers loving arms and to
his loving family at 3 days old. Robert has always been a precious gift to the Mitchell and Crenshaw families. Robert loved
his family and friends, especially his brothers and sisters; always there to do what he could for them. Robert had a whimsical
care for life tackling each day as if there was nothing he could not handle. Robert had a lot of love for people and would
do anything within his power to help others. Robert loved to play baseball for San Aundreas High School as well as football,
and basketball with his friends, despite his battles with chronic asthma. Robert was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, March
14, 2006 after remaining in a coma for 7 days. As a final gesture of love for life and others, Robert gave the gift
of life by donating his organs so that others can live. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his mother and father, brothers
Rafeal, Ronnie Jr. and Germaine, sisters Jasmine, LaRhonda and China, girlfriend Cassandra, Grandmothers Melvena and Joyce,
uncles Lance, Demar, Walter (Pappy), and Michael, Aunts Sherrice, Vannisha, Carolyn and Brenda and a host of family and good
friends. Robert will be truly missed.

Dear Robert,
There has been a saying as long as I can remember, you never know what you have
until it is gone. Robert, I do know what I have in you as a nephew. You are a wonderful person. I remember that you were always
so proud of me, showing me off to your friends whenever I had the chance to meet them. You would say, “This is my auntie
Sherrice she helps black people with knowing about their health”, when I was with the African American Health Initiative,
or you would say, “This is my auntie Sherrice, she helps black people with their businesses” , since I have been
with the Inland Empire African American Chamber of Commerce. You would say, “Auntie Sherrice is there anything I can
do for you”. Robert, as I have told you, which I hope you truly know. I am so much more proud of you for the way you
unconditionally love everyone and are always willing to help anyone that asked of you. You have such a tender soul. Robert
you are the first-born of all my nieces and nephews and I love you very much. I will always remember the good times and know
that one day I will see you again in the resurrection.
Love Always,
Auntie Sherrice
